Ministry of Health and the Lamu District Hospital
The medical staff of the Sailing Doctors work in contractual partnership with the Ministry of Health at the Lamu District Hospital. Each month, the Lamu District Hospital designates one of their nurses, equipped with vaccines, to accompany us on the mobile clinic. On a yearly basis, we submit our work plan to the Lamu District Hospital for approval.
WWF and KWS
When the weather permits, WWF in Mokokoni authorizes our team to use their 4-wheel drive vehicle to reach the inland road that serves the Boni villages. KWS then designates two armed escorts to accompany us. Our journey starts in Mokokoni and ends in Mokowe.
Lamu Animal Welfare Clinic
Since July 2010 the Lamu Animal Welfare Clinic sponsors one of their veterinarians to join our monthly mobile clinics.
The Moon Houses, Shela
These guesthouses provide the Sailing Doctors with storage space, office space, local transportation and accommodation for our visitors.
